So this year I set myself a reading challenge and I am so glad I did
By using good reads and taking a more avid interest in my reading I have learnt much, been inspired, and even started writing two book ideas – Poetry and a novel! I must be honest and say that getting a kindle to help reduce on storage needs was the best idea, I love a hard copy book but I can benefit the environment, save money, and save space which I simply DONT HAVE.Just this month I have read;
The book of hidden things – Francesco Dimitri
Last exit to brooklyn – Hubert Selby Jr
American Gods – Neil Gaiman
and last month was just as rich with great new reads;
Goodbye, Things: the new Japanese minimalism – Fumio Sasaki
Ikigai: the Japanese secret to a long and happy life – Eric Goodfellow
The classic tradition of haiku: an anthology – Faubion Bowers
I can highly recommend all of these books as they are currently less than £10 and even as cheap as £1 and who doesn’t love a great book that is cheap! As always I wish you all a beautiful day – its always good to remind ourselves how lucky we are just to be able to sit and read a book peacefully. So many people don’t have this opportunity and to make reading more available is a goal everyone should strive for! Amitabha!
My sister is starting up a blog and now more than ever her content is relevant with keeping clarity in your day and breathing properly. Thich-Naht-Hahn wrote in his book that the Buddhist Sutra ‘The full awareness of breathing’ by learning to simply breathe with full appreciation we can improve all aspects of our life and even reach enlightenment, give it a try today ;
Please take the time to view my whole journey below – any contributions toward my pursuit to further my education in Buddhism is life changing. Thankyou.
